Position: Reading Specialist/Dean of Students - Ettrick Elementary
Phone Extension: 4100
Teresa (Terri) Fanta, a native of Hillsboro, Wisconsin, received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She furthered her education earning a Master’s Degree in Reading Education from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. A lifetime learner, she recently completed the coursework for Principal and Director of Instructor licenses at Viterbo University.
Terri’s career began in the Elroy-Kendall-Wilton School District where she taught first grade and eighth grade. Wanting her schedule to match her children’s, she moved to the Hillsboro School District where she held the following positions: reading specialist, curriculum coordinator, and first grade and middle school math and reading teacher.
For the past two years, Terri has served the G-E-T School District as its reading specialist, an interventionist, and curriculum team member. This coming year, she looks forward to continuing in these roles in addition to being Ettrick Elementary School’s Dean of Students.
Terri and her husband, Gerry, will be relocating to the area as their youngest daughter just graduated from high school and will be attending UW-L. This puts them closer to their older two daughters who live in the Minneapolis area.
Visiting with family and friends, reading a good book, watching kids participate in activities they love and taking long walks fill Terri’s leisure time.
Dear G-E-T Families,
The beginning of the 2018-19 school year is fast approaching and I am eager to reconnect with students, staff, and the G-E-T communities. As a supporter and believer in all the opportunities public education provides our young people, I am anxious to continue strengthening programs and practices to best meet the needs of all our G-E-T learners, students and staff alike.
Serving the district as its reading specialist, Ettrick Elementary Dean of Students, and as a member of the district’s curriculum team, gives me the opportunity to be a part of continuous curriculum and instructional improvements. G-E-T’s administrative and teaching staff is dedicated to providing high quality instruction and programming for every student. I am privileged to be part of that work.
2018-19 is going to be a fantastic year! I welcome emails and calls with questions, concerns, and ideas to continue to keep G-E-T Schools on the cutting edge of educational innovation.
