Handbook

September 2016

Dear Parents and Students:

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year at Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau Middle School! As we begin yet another school year, the staff and I want to express our excitement to have students with us at school to take on the challenges of this academic year. I hope each of you will have an enjoyable and productive year.

Parents, please help your son or daughter with the difficult decisions necessary to promote growth in integrity, and let them know that you expect them to be honest, follow the rules, and not to disappoint themselves or others in their lives.  Also, feel free to contact school personnel with any questions, comments, or concerns.  We want to promote open communication and help to clarify issues that can sometimes be blurred by inaccurate or partial information.

This handbook is printed to provide you with information on school rules and regulations and to inform you of your responsibilities. It is important that all students and parents/guardians read, understand, and abide by the information in this handbook.

The vision that I share with staff is to focus on the “3 most important R’s in education: Relationship, Rigor, and Relevance.”  Our staff is committed to building relationships that best serve students emotional and academic needs, providing a rigorous content, and making learning relevant to students’ lives now and in their future.

We hope you all have a safe, productive, and happy year.  Teachers, counselors, paraprofessionals, support staff, secretaries, and of course, your principal stand ready to assist and guide students. Good luck this year, and please let me know if I can be of any help to you throughout the year.

Best regards,

Matt Wenthe

Principal
