News from the Athletic Director

Is your athlete ready to go? Before being allowed to participate in any practice, high school or middle school students must complete a physical or a WIAA issued alternate year card if they have had a physical within the last year. Physical and pledge cards must be turned in before being allowed to practice. Middle school students should see Mrs. Jenkins, middle school secretary, for these forms as well. She will be in the office starting August 15th 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. 

Middle School Sports – Practice Dates

Volleyball – (7-8th grade) Practice starts on August 30th after school. Practices will run from 3:30-5:30 p.m.  Please contact Pam Roh at su.iw1503454361.21k.1503454361slooh1503454361csteg1503454361@horm1503454361ap1503454361 with questions.

Football – (7-8th grade) Middle school football equipment distribution will be on Thursday, August 24th at 5:00 p.m. and students will meet in the recess area near the football shed.  Middle school football practices are from 3:30-5:00 p.m. on  August 25th  and 3:30-6:30 p.m. on August 28th & 29th.  They will run 3:30-5:30 p.m. once school begins.  Although participation in these practices is strongly encouraged, students may still join when school begins if they are unable to make August practices. Cross Country – (6-8th grade) Cross country will start August 23rd from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Students should meet in the recess area near the swing sets. Practices will run on August 24-25th and the 28-29th.  Starting August 30th practice will be after school and run until 5:00 p.m. Although participation in these practices is strongly encouraged, students may still join when school begins if they are unable to make August practices. Golf – (6-8th grade) Golf is for girls only this fall with the boys team running in the spring. Golf will run after school starting August 30th.Practices will run from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Please contact John Bergum at with questions.

Physicals or signed alternate year cards are required for all student athletes in Grades 7-12. No practice will be allowed without the proper card on file. Forms are available at the High School Office or download above.

Coulee Conference Information – This website has sports schedules for participating Coulee Conference schools as well as scores and standings. If you would like to be notified via email of any game changes or be reminded of upcoming games, please register on rSchool Today.  Select Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau. At the top of the next page, click “Notify Me!” and follow the user-friendly directions. Maps to schools are also available on this site.

Use of School Facilities

  Request for District Facility Use,  Requests to use District Facilities are now done online. At website, register and fill out the necessary information. Requests must be made 10 days prior to event.

Athletic Passes/Tickets

Prices for games are $2.00 for students and $4.00 for adults. Contact the High School Office at (608) 582-2291 Ext. 1421 for additional information.

Season athletic passes, good for MS & HS home games*, can be purchased at the High School Main Office starting Monday, August 7th, 8:00am – 3:30pm.

Family = $90
Individual = $45
Student = $20
Student in Athletics = $10

  • Good for all Middle School and High School games.
  • Purchase at the High School Main Office.
  • Anyone 62 years or older may pick up a free athletic pass to all home, non-tournament athletic events at the High School Office.
  • Does not include WIAA tournament games and if a contest is sold out.
