Congratulations G-E-T High School Music.
G-E-T High School’s Vocal Point
Check out their website www.getvocalpoint.com
Please congratulate the members of Vocal Point when you see them around. On Friday, April 21st, they performed in the International Championship of High School A Cappella at the Town Hall Theatre in New York City and placed 3rd in the entire country. ‘These kids have worked so hard to accomplish, what seemed to only be a dream. Three rounds and hundreds of groups reduced to the final 9, little old G-E-T finished 3rd. We are the smallest public school to ever appear at Finals and competed against some pretty stiff competition, including some private art schools. The top 3 groups also were given the opportunity to perform at the collegiate competition the next night while the judges calculated the scores. This time they got the chance to sing at the historic Beacon Theatre where singing and stand up greats have performed. Not to mention they got to sing to a sold out 3,000 plus crowd.’ (Ryan Stuempges) All of this happening after they were voted to be the last, wild card group to enter the competition, beating out 8 other groups. Also Ethan Giles was awarded best Vocal Percussionist of the year!!! First in the nation!!!
If you would like to see them perform check out their website for dates at www.getvocalpoint.com. They still have a bunch of shows scheduled.
Also Monday, April 24th at 7pm you can catch their interview with Acaville Radio as they sat down the morning after to talk about their experience and epic night. www.acaville.org
