Dear Parents and Students:
It is a pleasure to welcome you back to the 2019 – 2020 school year! I thank you personally for allowing me to continue serving the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau community as the high school principal. I am motivated and encouraged by all the hard work of our teachers as well as the unending work done by our maintenance and custodial staff preparing our facilities and grounds, on-site coaches and advisors who spend countless hours working with students, and our office and counseling staff organizing the school to be ready for a challenging, productive and enjoyable school year. The staff at the high school truly exemplifies our mission of providing an education based upon a strong academic foundation in order to equip all students with skills to be productive and responsible citizens. We are grateful to be able to continue offering what we believe is a most comprehensive and diverse academic and extracurricular program. Never resting on our laurels, we will continue to align our essential learning outcomes to the state standards, bridge the generational technological divide by using technology to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of our classrooms, and explore employability academies to name a few.
The relationship between you, your child, the staff and myself is very important. My hope is that you will find us approachable and easy to talk to, and that you won’t hesitate to contact us if you ever have questions, concerns, or you just want to share some good news about our school or your child. We always welcome and greatly appreciate feedback, as we cannot fix it if we don’t know about it!
To our students, I ask that you reflect on your goals and strive not only to pursue personal excellence but also to demonstrate your perseverance and integrity. Know that we are here to support and encourage you as you explore different possibilities and grow as learners. Remember that with these opportunities, comes both a personal and collective responsibility to be supportive of one another. I will count on you to go beyond tolerance and treat all members of our community with respect. I challenge each of you to contribute as we maintain and improve the long tradition of Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau excellence in both curricular and co-curricular activities.
To our parents, it is through your support that we make a significant difference in the lives of our students. As we strive to take Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School beyond its state standing as an exemplary high school to one of national recognition, our partnership becomes that much more critical. The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau community has dedicated itself completely to the education of its students and has placed great trust in our schools. We understand the importance of this trust and vow to work for the best interests of our students and community. Our challenge is to embrace the future of the 21st century and assure that our students are properly prepared to become leaders in this exciting new world.
It is a privilege to lead the learning community of Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School. The foundation of our future accomplishments will be found in the power of our combined efforts and the strength of our synergy. We wish you the best of luck this year as we work together to ensure that every child reaches his/her fullest potential! The teachers, counselors, paraprofessionals, support staff, secretaries, and of course, your principal, stand ready to assist and guide each of you. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance throughout the year.
