The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau School District is in the Exceeds Expectations category on the latest District Report Card. All three elementary schools and the middle schools are in the Exceeds Expectations categories; the high school is in the meets Expectations category. This success is a testament to the hard work of our students, the excellent instruction of our staff, and the amazing support of our parents and community.
The school district report card has five sections: Student Achievement, Student Growth, Closing Gaps, OnTrack and Postsecondary Readiness, and Student Engagement Indicators. Scores from the first four groups are averaged for a final score and deductions are made for areas of improvement in the Student Engagement Indicators.
The district exceeded the state average significantly in the following areas: English Language Arts (ELA) Achievement, Mathematics Achievement, Mathematics Growth, ELA Gaps, Graduation Gaps, Graduation Rate, 3rd Grade ELA Achievement, and 8th Grade Mathematics Achievement. The district had no deductions for Student Engagement Indicators. The one area of improvement that was noticeable was ELA Growth. (reprinted from November 2016 District Newsletter)
