This is the time of the year when weather could be a factor in whether we hold school or not. We plan to hold school if possible. If the buses can travel, we will have school. If weather conditions make it necessary to delay the start of school, dismiss school early, or cancel school for the day, we will announce that decision as soon as possible.
A two-hour late start or two-hour early dismissal means that all buses will run two hours later, or earlier than normal times. In the case of an early dismissal or school cancellation, all after school activities (such as practices, rehearsals, contests or games, etc.) will also be canceled. We will contact the following radio and TV stations: Magic 105, WKTY (AM 580), WIZM/ Z93, KWNO, KAGE and TV-Channel 8 and 19. We try to make the decision by 6:00 a.m. for a late start or cancellation, and by noon if there is an early dismissal.
If the weather changes for the worse during the school day, we will try to put in a full day. We are very concerned about small children going home without someone there to meet him or her. Please review with your children what you want them to do if you are not home when they get there.
WHEN WEATHER THREATENS: Snow, Ice or Cold
• You as a parent can certainly exercise your own judgment about sending your children to school. • Listen to the radio/TV for school announcements.
• Review what you want your children to do and where to go if there is no school.
• Remind them to dress appropriately with coats, boots, hats and mittens.
Planning ahead will help keep your children safe while reducing the stress of schedule changes for both you and your child(ren).
