STATE REPORT CARDS

The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau School District was represented very well on the annual state report with an Exceeds Expectations accountability rating. Highlights were English Language Arts and Mathematics Student Achievement as well as Closing Gaps for Mathematics Achievement and Graduation Rate. All of our schools Met Expectations at a minimum with Trempealeau Elementary Exceeding Expectations and Ettrick Elementary Significantly Exceeding Expectations. We are very proud of all of our students and teachers whose hard work led to these results.

As a word of caution, due to the changing formulas from one year to the next, it is difficult to compare this year’s results with previous results. Also, we do not judge our success on just English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Graduation scores and rates. We look at multiple measures to get a good idea of how our students and schools are performing. We consider many things such as STAR scores in math and reading, Fountas and Pinnell reading levels, classroom assessments, teacher and principal observations, Advanced Placement participation and scores, behavior data, extra-curricular participation, transcripted credits earned, apprenticeships and many more measures. When we look at the whole picture, we get a better idea of how to further help our students so that they are able to become citizens who are college and career ready.
