Butterfly Garden and Bird Sanctuary

Students from Mr. Schmidt’s 6th grade and Mrs. Bawek’s 8th grade Enrichment classes collaborated to build and design a butterfly garden and bird sanctuary. Throughout this process students built birdhouses, designed landscape areas, and discovered ways to attract and maintain an environment for

butterflies and birds that can be found in our natural environment. A huge thank you to Mr. Ottum for helping with the construction of the birdhouses, the G-E-T Education Foundation for funding the project, and the National Wildlife Refuge for providing the plants in our outside learning area. We are so excited to use these areas for years to come!
